(a) New employees will, at their date of hire, accrue one (1) day per month (eight (8) hours) of sick time starting the first full month of employment.

(b) All full-time employees can accrue eight (8) hours (one (1) day) of sick time the first day of each month, up to a maximum of four hundred (400) hours.

(c) Sick time may be taken in one (1) hour increments. Other increments may be approved by the supervisor.

(d) The supervisor may request a physician's written certification of illness when three (3) consecutive sick days or more are claimed.

(e) To be eligible for sick time, all employees must have reported for work or called in reporting the leave.

(f) The employee or someone on his/her behalf shall notify the Town of the absence of the employee as soon as possible prior to the scheduled hours of work. It is preferred that the call be made at least one hour prior to the employee's starting time.

(g) Upon termination or separation of employment, the employee shall be compensated for fifty (50) percent of all unused sick time, at the employee's regular rate of pay.

(h) The Clerk-Treasurer will keep an individual up-to-date record of all employees.
