(a) Verbal abuse, as used in this policy, means to disturb or persistently irritate through repeated attacks on fellow employees and/or supervisors as to disrupt their work or reputation. Examples of verbal harassment include but are not limited to: vulgar, profane, degrading or belittling language, extreme criticism, inappropriate or offensive jokes and/or innuendos, slurs, name calling and insults.

(b) St. John will actively investigate all verbal harassment complaints, and if determined that harassment has occurred, the Town will take appropriate disciplinary action against the offending party, up to and including termination.
