Reserve police officers shall be required to serve a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of service a month. Since the purpose of the reserve police officer program is to supplement and assist the regular sworn police personnel of the department, this schedule of sixteen (16) hours is to be considered a minimum. It is understood that working a minimum of two (2) shifts a month, or a minimum of sixteen (16) hours per month, will serve the needs of the department in providing police protection to the residents of the Town, and not place any undue strain upon the reserve police officers.
