The specific responsibilities of the committee shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following:

(1) The committee shall recommend plans and ideas for the most effective use of land pertaining to the mix of business, residential, and recreational.

(2) The committee shall recommend goals and policies for the Town to utilize in evaluating and inviting future development proposals, taking into consideration certain factors such as existing zoning and recommended zoning, compatibility with surrounding areas, suggested revisions to the Town's zoning and subdivision control ordinances and potential impact on town infrastructure including traffic and public services.

(3) The committee shall review and evaluate road-widening and repair projects undertaken by the state department of transportation in the Town.

(4) The committee shall work with the Park Board and departments in town to determine the feasibility of establishing a system of town-wide bicycle and walking paths and the use of federal grant funds to defray the cost of the same.

(5) The committee shall study and prioritize areas for annexation to the Town and the rationale for each particular annexation considered.
