No dog or cat shall be released for adoption without first being sterilized. It shall be the responsibility of the ACO (Animal Control Officer) to institute a policy and procedure for this requirement. An adopting party shall pay a fee of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the adoption of a cat or dog. This fee shall be made payable to the Town of St. John, and shall be collected by the Town Clerk-Treasurer.
