(a) All service conductors shall have sufficient ampacity to carry the load as determined by the Indiana Electrical Code.

(b) All service conductors shall be insulated.

(c) New single-family residences under one thousand five hundred (1,500) square feet shall have a minimum size service of 100-ampere, 3-wire, with a 20-circuit panel and main disconnect mounted on a painted plywood panel. New single-family residences over one thousand five hundred (1,500) square feet shall have a minimum size service of 200-ampere, 3-wire with a 30-circuit panel and main disconnect mounted on a painted plywood panel.

(d) In the event a mast type riser is required, the minimum size conduit shall be one and one-half (1½) inches and shall extend at least twenty-four (24) inches above the roof line. An approved flashing must be installed where conduit extends through the roof. Mast in excess of twenty-four (24) inches shall be supported or braced. Aluminum conduit will not be allowed for mast type installations.

(e) Service disconnecting means distribution panels shall not be located in closets, bathrooms over kitchen sinks, and must have sufficient spacing from exposed water, gas and sewer lines or pipes according to the Indiana Electrical Code.

(f) In residences having service disconnecting means located in the basement, the minimum mounting height from the center of the equipment shall be five (5) feet from the floor. In residences where the service disconnect is not located in the basement, the minimum center height shall be five and one-half (5½) feet from the floor or ground level.

(g) All temporary construction services shall be inspected before being connected to the utility supply.

(h) Services over eight hundred (800) amperes shall be governed by the Indiana Electrical Code and the inspection department shall be consulted for approval.

(i) A special inspection program must be approved by the electrical inspection department prior to installation of any aluminum wiring.

(j) Any services not covered in this article shall have the approval of the electrical department.

(k) Partial service releases available for the convenience of the contractors are to be terminated after thirty (30) days unless renewal is requested and granted.

(l) In general, on 15- and 20-ampere branch circuits, the number of current delivering outlets shall be limited to ten (10) per circuit.
